Check eSIM compatibility

Takes about ten seconds

  1. Open your phone’s dial pad

The keypad you use to make a call.

  2. Dial this code

    *#06#

The result shows as soon as you type the last # — no need to press call.

  3. Look for “EID” in the result

    Do you see an EID?
    EID shown — you’re compatible

    Your phone supports eSIM.

    No EID? Check Settings

Some Android phones only show it in Settings › About phone › SIM status. On Samsung, look under SIM manager. On iPhone: Settings › General › About, then scroll to EID. No EID there either means this phone can’t use an eSIM.

An EID doesn’t tell you if your phone is carrier-unlocked, which it also needs to be. Bought outright? It almost certainly is.
